The SIXTH round of EJP mini sessions is complete!!
This was my 3rd year doing Fall Mini Sessions…2nd year at the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine, KS!
I LOVE IT THERE…and I’m not sure I’ll go anywhere else![]()
Thanks to all of my beautiful clients for coming to see me, and continuing to “sell out” my mini session weekends!
You are all amazing! You put so much though into your wardrobes, and you are just too sweet!
One of my friends that helps me with check-in at the minis told me on the way home last night…
that I really have great clientele! I could not agree more! They are loyal, and I am so grateful for you all!!
AND thank you to my dear friends, Audra and Megan, that help me every mini weekend.
They entertain me all day, unload and load my car, keep my water cup filled, and snacks in my belly!
They also greet every client with a smile! I love you girls~
So….here is {round one} of the Fall 2012 Mini Session Peeks
Thanks for your patience, I know you are all anxious to see! I’m not quite as fast these days, at 6 months pregnant =)

The Annual Fall Mini Sessions are coming…

(see the up-to-date booking schedule at the bottom of this post)
Please, call or email to reserve your session
Several back-to-back sessions will be booked on this day, so it is important that you are on time for your appointment.

Just for fun…another installment of EJP Photoshop Friday!
Enjoy and have a great weekend!!!!
Sometimes I struggle with editing. As photographers, we have a TON of actions and software available to us to use on our images. A lot of times, it can be overwhelming (and very expensive-these actions/software are not cheap), and having all the choices can make it hard to find your “style.” I like to think I’ve found MY “style,” but somedays I feel frustrated and not so sure. I alway strive for a natural look to my photos. 95% of the time, I love a color image. One that is rich, bold, crisp and warm. BUT sometimes, the image just speaks to me…yearning to be soft & hazy or black & white. I like to hope my images can be timeless. If a client has them printed HUGE to hang as artwork on their wall, I want it to still look amazing 5+ years down the road. As long as I nail the exposure in-camera, it’s easy for me to just run my “signature edit” on an image, and be done. BUT if I underexpose or overexpose an image, it may need more help. AND that is when I can sometimes stray from what I feel is my style. Trying to “fix” an image in Photoshop is not what I want to do. Anyone can take a horrible image SOOC (straight out of camera) and “save” it with Photoshop. That’s when I get frustrated and feel like my image looks over-edited.
So, I guess I’m not really sure what I’m trying to say/share. Just a little peek inside my crazy head
Mostly, I just want people to look at my images and see them as natural…not realizing they were edited much until they see the original. Make sense? Do you feel that way?

I feel the same way about editing. I see so many images with vingettes now that I want to barf! I am so glad to see someone else that believe true photography comes from the camera with very little editing! Your photos are amazing!
Best imaging to touch my heart. An image is good after changes. All time improve image color and quality.
That’s what I truly love about your pics…they don’t look “over done”.
Beautiful work…as always!
I love your new house color~looks great!
I just came across your page while doing a search for photo blogs. Your style definitely comes across in these photos. Your editing is beautiful. Do you have particular edits or actions that you like to stick with?

{WHAT TO WEAR}
Chose outfits you are comfortable in. Dark, rich colors and patterns.
Mix and match…layering is good! jackets, jewelry, scarves, hair accessories.
Avoid clothing with logos, or distracting graphics. We want YOU to be the focus!
Girls, try to avoid short skirts or shorts…they can really limit posing.
